Dr. Angela Gerretsen graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1995. Angela joined Mitchell Veterinary Services in 1998. She grew up on a dairy farm and continues to farm with her husband. Angela’s main focus is on small animal medicine and surgery. She enjoys working with people and their pets assisting with the deep bond that exists between them. Angela works 1-2 days a week at Mitchell Veterinary Services and spends the reminder of her time working at our sister clinic, Coventry Animal Hospital. She has completed courses in ultrasound and dentistry and enjoys attending veterinary conferences to keep up to date on the latest knowledge available. Currently she is studying different aspects of Traditional Chinese medicine including acupuncture and herbal medicine. After hours she enjoys spending time with family, their dog Toby, and cat Lucy along with several pet goats. She also loves gardening, kayaking, hiking and reading. Witnessing daily the relationship between clients and their pets motivates me to continue to develop my knowledge and skills. I believe adding animals to our lives makes us better and healthier people. It has been a blessing to work with such dedicated and compassionate clients and team members over the years.

Veterinarians

Dr. Justine Rudniski, D.V.M.

Veterinarian

Justine graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College at Guelph in 2011. She worked on the Southern shore of Lake Simcoe in a mixed animal practice and joined the Mitchell Veterinary Services team in 2012. Although she grew up in Toronto, she has always preferred a rural lifestyle. Justine spent her childhood summers at her grandparents’ farm in Shelburne, which led to her aspiration to become a veterinarian. Her border collie, Vesper, introduced her to the world of dog sports (agility and sheep herding), which then became a deep dive into canine rehab and a love of dog training using positive reinforcement. As a direct result, she has become certified in Canine Rehabilitation and loves to help clients find creative ways to engage their dog physically and mentally.
Justine has always loved cats and currently has a geriatric brown tabby named Ninja. She bottle-raised Ninja from a day of age and never ceases to be amazed by his human tendencies. Justine currently lives in Stratford with her husband and young daughter. When she’s not at the clinic, Justine enjoys growing things to eat, hiking, traveling, Crossfit and training for triathlons.

Outside of work, Cathy shares her home with 3 cats and one dog (who wishes at least one cat would play with him). For many years she was a member of a dog performance show team based out of Elmira. She enjoys training in dog sports and will happily discuss dog sports with anyone who will listen!
